The Rev. Matthew Shannon is an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He is the Current Pastor of Campbell’s Chapel AME Church in Carrollton, VA. A native of St. Louis, Missouri and Virginia Beach, Virginia, Rev. Shannon earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Hampton University in May 2006. He received a Master of Divinity Degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta in May 2009 with a focus on Church Administration. Rev. Shannon earned a Master's Degree from Capella University in 2016, specializing in Nonprofit Management and Leadership. He is the author of two books, The Book of Prayers for the Seasons in Life & Keep your Life Lit, now available on igniteyourcorepublishing.com and Amazon.com. Rev. Shannon is the Host of the Being Authentic Together Podcast, now streaming on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Rev. Shannon is an Inductee in the 2022 Class of the Forty under 40 at Hampton University.
