What will you Leap Over? Plus, Last Day of Black History Month
February 29th only comes once every four years. When it comes, you know it because every day after skips by a day than the year before. For example, March 1st was a Friday in 2019. Now, March 1st is on a Sunday in 2020. As the calendar leaps over a day, what will you decide to leap over? I remember playing UNO as a kid, and I still do…there was one card named Skip. This card would allow you to skip the next player. I used this card so that it could be my turn quicker. I was patient, but now I wanted to skip ahead. I wanted to leap forward. I wanted to leap over the next player, so I could play again.
Sometimes, in life there are times when you have to leap over some people and some situations. You have to leap over Fear, doubt, and struggle to get what God has for you. You have to skip over the negative person who talks about you behind your back (By the way, these people don’t possess the courage to be authentic in front of you) they are a hurdle. Jump over them to get to the next level. You might have to leap over financial hardship and land on creating additional income streams and learn how to use your money wisely. You might decide to leap over stagnancy in your career, so you can land where you are suppose to be in your career. What will you leap over, this leap year 2020? What will you skip? Will you skip procrastination? Will you skip hate? Will you skip jealousy? It’s time to leap in 2020! You have been held back long enough. They have overlooked you long enough. It’s time to leap forward and let God be glorified!
I must say that I celebrate African American History all year long. African Americans have a rich culture and it is impossible to celebrate all its beauty for just 28 or 29 days. Let’s celebrate everyday. It is worth it! I do want to honor and remember the life of Famed NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson for the work that she did. I appreciate that we gave her flowers while she could smell them. My challenge to you is when you recognize greatness, honor them while they are here on earth.
